Interesting old photograph. Anyone feel like tracking down the e-bay poster and pointing out the error of their ways…

On Ebay and thought you might like to see it………………..

An aerial photograph of Holy Loch, Firth of Clyde which shows many naval ships and, with closer study, lots of other interesting things, a couple of seaplanes, a steam train running alongside the dock etc.  It was identified as coming from WW2, possibly a convoy either arriving or departing and Sunderland flying boats.

Piper One Design Championships 2010

September 3rd, 2010

Piper OD Championships hosted by Royal Gourock Yacht Club, took place on the middle weekend of August.  Good weather for sunbathing, too little wind for great sailing but Gourock looks good in the sunshine.  Link to photographs on the Piper OD website below.

Flexible Training Funding from Skills Development Scotland

September 3rd, 2010

Flexible Training Opportunities gives businesses with under 50 employees the opportunity to apply for up to £5,000 towards employee training costs.

Launched by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and supported by the European Social Fund, it aims to help small businesses become more resilient and to boost productivity and success.

Funding is available for up to 10 employees per business and the money is not a loan so there’s no need to pay it back.

SDS will refund up to 50% of each episode of employee training up to a maximum of £500 per employee.

It effectively means you can double your training investment. Or it might help you introduce some training when you thought it wouldn’t be possible.

The application process is simple and the rewards can really make a difference. Many businesses have already taken advantage of the offer. Click here to find out more, or go onto the Skills Development Scotland website and click on ‘Flexible Training’

For advice on how to apply, call free on 0800 783 6000.
