Gourock to Cardwell Garden Centre & Lunderston Bay

Time: 1 hour

Route: 

Starting at Gourock train station, head southwest on Kempock street towards the Gourock pool. Continue along the promenade, with public toilets midway and approach the Royal Gourock Yacht Club. The path becomes a wide pavement to Cloch road, passing the Western Ferries pier and approach the Cloch Lighthouse. As the promenade continues south it turns away from the road into Lunderston Bay picnic area. At the Lunderston Bay carpark there is a path to cross the road to Cardwell Garden centre, which has a café.

Terrain: Tarmac 

What to Bring: A picnic for when you reach Lunderston Bay, bucket and spade for the kids to enjoy the sandy beach.

Look out for: 

  • The picturesque Cloth Lighthouse, built in 1797.
