Scotland v England Women’s 50th Anniversary Match

A Very Special and Exciting football match between Scotland v England and their rising stars will take place in Greenock this summer as part of the Meliora Festival.  This is to mark the 50^th anniversary of the first official women’s international fixture.

The girls’ under-15s sides will go head-to-head at Ravenscraig Stadium on Sunday 15 May 2022.  This is  almost five decades on from the iconic first game between the two nations which took place here at the Inverclyde sports venue in 1972.

The fixture is being organised by Inverclyde Council in partnership with the Scottish Schools’ Football Association and with support from the English Schools’ Football Association.

The match will take place on Sunday 15 May 2022 at Ravenscraig Stadium, Greenock, with a noon kick-off.

Gates will open at 11am, so make sure to come along early to watch the teams warm up, meet some of the original 1972 and current Women’s football team players and enjoy the atmosphere of the stadium build up.  Food trucks and a beat the goalie competition will be on-site.

Tickets are now on sale at £5 per adult ticket with up to 2 under 16’s included in the ticket price.

Please note no under 16’s allowed entry without an adult.
