Greenock Cut Visitor Centre, Bridge, Inverkip, Cornalees, UK
Walk with your local rangers! Clyde Muirshiel rangers are hosting a walk on 25th July, starting at 10am. It will be approximately 16km walk starting and finishing at the Greenock cut visitor centre.
This route takes you to the summit of the Parks northern most supra-300m hill. You’ll pass by the location of a Roman watch tower as well as and an bronze age / iron age settlement. The round houses are still visible today although little remains of the Roman fortlet other than the earth works the tower was built on. Not only are there ancient remains there are three abandoned farms ranging from the 18th to 20th century.
