Starting in Gourock, take a dip in our outdoor heated swimming pool, situated right on the waterfront where you can bask in spectacular views of the River Clyde. Being only 1 of 2 heated outdoor pools in Scotland, open from only May – October, it’s an opportunity you do not want to miss!

If you feel like enjoying more of Gourock after your swim, take a short stroll along Kempock Street, where you’ll find a variety of eateries and coffee shops to suit all tastes – many offering stunning sea views.

Cycle hire is also available at Gourock Train Station, where you can further explore the area. Take the scenic route along the waterfront towards Lunderston Bay, a local beach with stunning views and a newly refurbished children’s playpark. Alternatively, cycle towards Greenock around the bay, through Battery Park and on to the Esplanade. The Esplanade offers a 2 mile flat stretch of uninterrupted views of the River Clyde, perfect for a walk or cycle – and if you’re feeling something sweet there is a traditional Italian ice cream shop and the end.

For the golfers in the family, there are 6 glorious golf courses across Inverclyde that would welcome day visitors. The nearest to Gourock is the Gourock Golf Club, which has a state of the art indoor golf simulator as well as a challenging 18-hole course with phenomenal views. Children are welcome and the club house has a bar service 7 days of the week and catering services 5 days per week in summer and 4 days per week in winter.

For younger children looking for a place to run and play, Battery Park has lots of open space to tire the little ones, and two playparks. Adjacent to the park is Elev8, an indoor trampoline park that is open 7 days a week.

The Waterfront leisure complex is situated in the heart of Greenock, and offers a range of indoor activities for all ages. Highlights include a large indoor pool complete with flumes, a wave pool, lazy river and a children’s splash area. There is also a gym, ice rink and a coffee shop.

Conveniently, the Waterfront is located right next door to the Greenock cinema – there is something for everyone to enjoy!
