Greenock
To celebrate the launch of BFI Replay in Inverclyde libraries, join us at Greenock Central Library for a special event exploring the archives and collaborative work of the British Film Institute (BFI) and National Library of Scotland, including a screening of the 1974 short film, Sea City – Greenock.
BFI Replay is a free-to-access digital archive, uncovering stories from across the UK, its history and its people and is available exclusively in UK public libraries. Join us to hear archival insights from Nicky Williams of the BFI and Ann Cameron from the National Library of Scotland and watch curated highlights from BFI Replay itself.
The screening of the film Sea City – Greenock will feature the Scott Lithgow shipyard, the town’s industries, houses and people. This film is part of Library’s Films of Scotland Collection and comprises some 150 documentary films documenting the changing face of Britain from 1955 to 1982.
