Greenock Players to Present Summer One-Act Plays at The Albany
Greenock Players will return to the stage this August with an entertaining evening of theatre, presenting two acclaimed one-act plays in a single performance at The Albany, Greenock.
On Saturday 15th August at 7.30pm, audiences will enjoy The Bench by K.R. McAllister and If This Is A Story by Sean A. McLaughlan, offering two very different but equally engaging theatrical experiences for just £15.
The Bench is a poignant yet humorous exploration of grief, friendship and finding solace in unexpected places. The story follows Joe, a man struggling with the pressures of everyday life, and Sandy, who is mourning a loss. As the two men clash over a secluded park bench, an unlikely connection develops in this moving satirical comedy.
In contrast, If This Is A Story is a witty and imaginative comedy that asks: what if you discovered your life had already been written? When an inspirational teacher and one of his students realise they are characters in a scripted reality, they must decide whether to challenge the writer or embrace the story that has been created for them.
The evening promises laughter, thought-provoking storytelling and outstanding performances from talented local actors, showcasing the creativity and passion of community theatre in Inverclyde.
Performances take place at The Albany, 10 Orangefield Place, Greenock, PA15 1YX, onSaturday 15th August 2026 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £15, with audiences enjoying two plays for the price of one.
This promises to be an evening of high-quality local theatre that is not to be missed!
