Two mixed race musicians from different generations compare and contrast their ‘lived experiences’ of growing up in and around Inverclyde. Jazz singer and actress Suzanne Bonnar was one of the first people of colour to be born in Dunoon to a local lass and a US serviceman father. Musician, writer and filmmaker, Matt Hickman (aka Brownbear) is a unique storyteller whose professional career started in the Cafe Continental in Gourock. This event will also feature a sharing of an extract of Magic Torch’s comic book devised by local young people interrogating the legacies of Slavery in Inverclyde.
