How do I get to the Gourock Highland Games?

You can travel by rail using the ScotRail service to Fort Matilda or Gourock Train Station. You can also hop on a McGill’s bus, with stops located directly outside Greenock’s Battery Park.

Can I park at the games?

The Battery Park car park is closed on the day of the games with many parking restrictions in place around the park to make things easier for local residents.

If you live locally, why not make use of our new Active Travel cycling and walking routes and travel by foot?

I have a Blue Badge, can I park at Battery Park?

A limited number of disabled parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis but these do get filled up very quickly.

Do I need to purchase a ticket to come to the Gourock Highland Games?

No the event is free for all to attend.

Can I bring my dog to the Gourock Highland Games?

Yes, we welcome well-behaved dogs at the games. However, they must always remain on a lead and be comfortable with large crowds.

Where can I find out what’s going on?

Every year we put together a programme packed full of information on what’s happening, where and when. Check othe news section of this website and the Inverclyde Council and Gourock Highland Games social media channels nearer the day for a link to download this year’s programme or pick up one for free on the day.

Can I bring a campervan to the games?

As above, parking is very limited and there is no provision for campervan or caravan parking at the games.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at the games?

The Battery Park car park is closed on the day of the games and therefore charging points are not accessible. To find the nearest charging points, click here: Charge Place Scotland

Anything else I should know before I come?

Disposable barbecues are not allowed on site.

Battery Park is an open space and there will be official photography and filming on site.

No drones are allowed to fly over Battery Park while the games are on.
