British Pipe Band Championships road closures

Life in Inverclyde

We are delighted to be hosting the British Pipe Band Championships, in conjunction with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and look forward to welcoming over 100 bands to Inverclyde on Saturday 21st May at Battery Park.

It starts at 10am and will see bands competing throughout the day until the presentation and march past at approx 6pm.

It’s free for everyone to attend and will be a great family day out.

Name of Road: Battery Park, Greenock
Limits: No Right Turn from Battery Park heading west onto Eldon Street
Type of Restriction: Right Turn Ban
Period of Restriction: From: 1600hrs Saturday 21st May 2022

To: 2000hrs Saturday 21st May 2022

Reason for Restriction: British Pipe Band Championships
Classes of Vehicles Prohibited: All except vehicles being used in an emergency for Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Coastguard purposes, or a vehicle being used for carrying out the works or event.

Name of Road: Cardwell Road & Manor Crescent, Gourock
Limits: Both sides of Cardwell Road from the eastern boundary of No 80 to the junction with Cove Road

Both sides of Manor Crescent from the junction with Cardwell Road to the junction with Caledonia Crescent

Type of Restriction: No Waiting / No Loading / No Unloading at Any Time

Limits: Newark Street on the north side of the carriageway from the junction with Eldon Street to the junction with Wood Street.

Eldon Street on the north side of the carriageway from the southwest boundary of No 335 to the junction with the Esplanade.
