Walking Route

The Route:
The route begins at the track junction, 1km up the road from Whinhill golf course. This circular trail takes you along the north-eastern perimeter of Clyde Muirshiel park, encompassing rough moorland and woodland track. Follow the track for 2km where you will pass Whitelee Cottage and an MOD mast before arriving at the foot of Corlic Hill. Cross the stile then make for the trig point on the summit. Stop at the summit to take in the magnificent views, a bite to eat and don’t forget to stay hydrated. Continue over the moorland for 1.5km towards the foot of the reservoir, where you will join the road and walk over the bridge towards Garshangan. Turn right at the track junction towards Loch Thom, cross the bridge and continue on the road for 2km returning to the beginning.
Terrain: Rough Moor and Track.
What to Bring: Binoculars are useful as sightings of birdlife, wildlife and historical remains are guaranteed.
Look out for:
Parking available on the grass verge at the start of the Corlic Hill path, off Old Largs road.
