Greenock Cut

Cycling & Walking Route

  • Distance7 Miles
  • Average elevation120m

Difficulty (Clockwise Route): Easy off road route

The Greenock Cut is an incredibly popular walk but can also be great fun on two wheels for all the family. Traffic-free with fascinating local history and unbeatable views to the island and into the Trossachs, this one not to miss! You can start from either the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre or the Overton Access car park. There is one hill to negotiate but it isn’t very long and if needed, its only a short push. The rest of the route is pancake flat!

Type of Bike: Something with robust tyres as the route is off-road

What to bring: You’ve got to bring your camera with you for this one and make sure you have some cash for a café stop at Greenock Cut.

Places to stop along the way: Whilst here, the Greenock Cut visitor centre is a must and you’ll also enjoy stopping for some of the kissing gates! See if you can spot the legendary Greenock Cut Oak. Or spot Inverkip Marina down below.
