Cycling Route
Difficulty (Clockwise Route): Medium Difficulty with a long climb and fast descent.
This is a cracker of a route and can be started from Gourock Train Station. You begin your adventure heading along the national cycle network hugging the coast working your way towards Inverkip and Kip Marina either on road or along the traffic free cycle route. Just before the marina you begin to climb up the stunning Greenock Cut, past Inverkip houses initially, then on country roads (no pavements). Incredible views of Inverclyde and Argyll open up to you as you pass the Greenock Cut visitor centre and Loch Thom with refreshments available here. Ride alongside the stunning Loch Thom and then begin your thrilling descent back to Greenock and Gourock.

What to Bring: Always bring some bike essentials with you – bike pump, spare inner tube, tyre levers and a multi tool. Also, don’t forget your camera to capture the stunning views.
Places to stop along the way: Remember to look behind you at the view as you climb up towards Greenock cut and make sure to stop in at the Visitor centre to learn about the fascinating history of the cut!
