Village Life

Cycling Route

  • Distance12.5 miles
  • Average elevation282m

Difficulty: Short but sharp with several tough climbs

This route is a great way to start linking up the villages and towns in the region, giving you inspiration for different routes as an alternative to the NCN if you’re looking for other options. Largely on quiet country lanes there are some challenging climbs on this route. The main climb is after Quarriers Village on Lochwinnoch Road. Torr road offers a shortcut to Bridge of Weir. If you stay on the yellow route make sure to turn left at the sign for Barnbrock. If you want to explore further, why not continue along this road and descend to the Castle Semple Visitor Centre on the shore of Lochwinnoch. Stunning at any time of the year.

Type of bike: Any

What to bring: Bring your wildlife spotting book with you, particularly for the bird life and a camera to capture these moments

Places to stop along the way: What not call into Quarriers Village and explore and learn about the history of the area.
