ALL ABOARD FOR A DAY OF FUN!!

Join the Rail 200 Community Day at Wemyss Bay Station on Saturday 24th May. This brings together a host of local organisations to mark the 200th anniversary of travel by rail and the 160th anniversary of the railway to Wemyss Bay.

Find out more about the splendid station, voted Britain’s favourite! Learn also about the Skelmorlie Secret Bunker.

Inverclyde Heritage Network and Bute Conservation Trust will have more information about local history. Local artists and craftspeople will be showing their work.

There will be more trains than usual at the station, with Greenock Model Railway Club running some of their models.

Others attending include Bute Forest, Inverclyde Gaelic Group, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Waverley Excursions. The book shop, station café and bar are open, as usual.

The Community Day runs from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm and is free of charge!
