Meliora Festival
The Meliora festival is a flagship festival to help boost Inverclyde’s events and leisure sector.
The name of the festival, Meliora, is inspired by the motto on Inverclyde’s crest – ‘Meliora semper prospicimus’ meaning ‘We look forward to better things’.
Meliora means “in the pursuit of betterment” and this year we want to bring our local communities together to celebrate the resilience and compassion you have shown over the last two years.
Meliora Festival has three headline events; The Pipeband Championship, Beacon Illuminarium and Inverclyde Leisure Active Warrior.
In addition to our three headline events in May and June, we are delighted to have offered a supportive funding opportunity for local community groups to deliver events in their area.
The events are intended to provide an opportunity for communities to socialise and reconnect with others during the summer through delivery of a range of activities.
The Festival starts with the Gourock Highland Games on Sunday 8 May.
